Search Associates Application Form Terminology
The Search Associates website uses American educational terminology as standard. The table below compares some common American, British and Australian terminology.

When completing the Search Associates Application Form, you may give any of the above equal priority, thus indicating your particular breadth of interest. For example, UK curriculum "Secondary" teachers may wish to give High School & Middle School equal "First Priority".
ADMIN - indicates Senior Management / Deputy / Head / Programme (IB PYP, MYP, Diploma) Coordinator, Section / Grade Level Leader.
INTERN - a newly qualified graduate, with or without a teaching qualification. The INTERN/Art, INTERN/Math, etc., positions are NOT for experienced teachers.
For teachers who have a British PGCE qualification or Australian Dip.Ed. qualification: please write these qualifications along with your other degrees in the "EDUCATION" section of the Application Form.
In 'Fields of Certification' - please write the subject(s) &/or age range your qualification prepared you to teach.
In 'Teaching Certification/Qualification awarded by' - please write the name of the body which officially permitted you to teach. 'Certification' means your licence to teach as distinct from your degree in education.
