Search Associates London-January 2011 Recruitment Fair Details for SCHOOL RECRUITERS

  • Up to 100 large and well-known International Baccalaureate Primary Years, Middle Years and Diploma schools, and up to 25 reputed British Curriculum international schools.
  • School and candidate attendance by invitation only.
  • Maximum 500 candidates, wide-ranging nationalities, curriculum experience ratio  IB 4 : UK 1.
  • Candidate places offered to highly recommended teachers only.
  • Candidate profiles matched closely to recruiting schools' needs.
  • Leadership Section, in which recruiters can interview IB- and British Curriculum-experienced candidates for positions as:  IB PYP, MYP and Diploma Coordinators, Grade Level Leaders / Section Heads, Areas of Interaction Leaders, Counselors, CAS / Community and Service Coordinators, and Year Heads.

Registration for schools / recruiters is on Thursday 27 January 2011, in the Search Office (Sauternes Room), from 09.00 to 22.00.  (Candidate arrival and registration takes place on Friday 28 January 2011.)

  • The number of recruiting schools will be limited to 125.  Priority is given to schools attending previously.  Other schools are wait-listed.
Schools/Recruiters - How to Apply for a Place:
  1. Read the Search London-January 2011 Recruitment Fair Schedule for Recruiters.
  2. Contact Gez Hayden to request an invitation.
  3. Once your invitation has been confirmed, register your school's vacancies and complete your school's information on the main US Search Associates Website.  This allows teachers to see that your school will attend Search London-January and gives password-protected free access to the Search Associates Candidate Database.  Click here to begin registration.
  4. When you have access to the database, update your school's details regularly.

PLEASE NOTE:  AT THIS FAIR, CANDIDATE DOSSIERS WILL BE MADE AVAILABLE TO RECRUITERS ON USB DRIVE ONLY.  HARD COPIES WILL BE SUPPLIED ONLY IN THE CASE OF COMPUTER BREAKDOWN.

Fair Registration Fee:
US$ 750  for the first recruiter, and  US$ 500  for each additional recruiter.
Equipment: Laptop with DVD drive and USB port essential for recruiters and candidates.  Candidate Dossiers available only on USB Drive.  Hard copy available only in the case of computer breakdown.
Mac users:  please bring your own VGA cable adaptor in order to be able to connect to the LCD Projector to the external monitor socket of your Mac for giving your school presentation.

Which Teachers?
Outstanding teachers from all countries, with IB PYP, MYP or Diploma experience and/or strong IB orientation, and with British Curriculum experience 3-18.  The fair targets top teachers seeking jobs in highly regarded international schools.  It has a worldwide (not regional) geographical focus.  Candidates available in all grades (years) and subjects.
Which Leaders?
Candidates for administrative positions (Principals, PYP, MYP and Diploma Coordinators, CAS Coordinators, Counselors, Area of Interaction Leaders, Trainer-trainers, qualified Workshop Leaders, and Year Heads):  e-mail Gez Hayden regarding applying for the special Leadership Section, for schools seeking administrative candidates.
Deadlines: Recruiter / school applications preferred by 10 October 2010.  Approved late applicants (if places are available) may be admitted up to 31 December 2010.
Accommodation:
  • To book your accommodation at the Novotel, use ONLY the online booking page, inserting the hotel code 0737 and appropriate preferential code (Searro or Searbb).  The booking guide gives clear instructions on the booking process.
    Recruiters must stay at the Novotel, so candidates may have access to you.
  • SUPERIOR Rooms are much more suitable for conducting interviews.  Available at a £ 10.00 daily surcharge.  Strongly recommended.

  • Option:  with or without breakfast.
  • Booking recommended before 26 October 2010, to ensure your room.
  • Booking can be no later than 26 December 2010.
Catering: Recruiter Welcome (complimentary snacks and drinks) on Thursday 27 January, 19.30.
Candidate / Recruiter Social (Saturday evening).
Saturday and Sunday Lunch:  light snacks provided in recruiter lounge.
Food and drink can be bought at a range of nearby retail outlets, and inside the hotel.
Complimentary Recruiter Dinner Sunday 30 January.
Travel: Visas are necessary for entering the United Kingdom, for some nationalities.  Please check your travel documents are in order at least one month before your date of travel.
Departure: Best not before Monday afternoon, 31 January.
