Helpful Hints for Completing the Online Search Associates Registration Application Form

  1. Have a full curriculum vitae / résumé to hand to supply you with all the information you will need - dates, the names of referees, snail mail and e-mail addresses, phone and fax numbers, etc.
  2. The application form is divided into several distinct sections which can be completed in a single session of about 30 minutes or separately whenever you have free moments.  At the beginning of the application, you will be asked to choose a username and password.  Remember them!  They will enable you to call up your application at any time, whether it is to complete your application or to amend information at a later date, via the Candidate's Login form in the right-hand column of this page.
  3. If you have not completed and submitted your Search Application within 14 days it may be deleted by the system.  Please be sure to write to Harry Deelman at when you think you have completed and submitted your application so that he can check and reassure you that it has reached him safely.
  4. Take care!  What you input on your online Application Form will go directly into the Search Associates online database of candidate applications - what you write is what recruiters will see.
  5. When you come to fill in your e-mail address, please enter only one address in the e-mail address box provided on the application form.  If you have multiple e-mail addresses, you can write your additional addresses in the postal address section.
  6. Fill in all relevant information!  Do not leave empty boxes.  Remember that recruiters will "search" the Candidate Database for suitable candidates to fill their vacancies so EMPTY BOXES may mean that your form will not be selected by the search procedure for something you really can do.  Record the Search Fairs that you might realistically attend - some Heads will be checking where they could meet and interview you.  Please do not indicate more than two Fairs.  Candidates normally record their first-preference Recruitment Fair and the earliest of their reserve choices.  You can amend your application form, including your choice of Recruitment Fair, at any time.
  7. Some boxes on the Application Form are 'required'; if you do not fill them in, you will not be able to submit the form.  These include at least one 'Position(s) you seek', most of the information in the Personal Information box, plus some contact information for the three professional referees you list.
  8. Dual Nationality - The Search application asks for a single nationality.  If you are a citizen of more than one country please make a note of this fact in the box which asks for Country of Birth in the following way:
Country of Birth: xxxxx -- Dual nationality yyyyy and zzzzz.
Example:  Country of Birth: South Africa -- Dual nationality U.K. and South Africa
  9. Please do not forget to give us the name and contact details of someone who will always know how to get in touch with you, e.g. your parents or a close friend.  Do NOT give the name of someone who travels with you when you go on holiday &/or change jobs, i.e. not your spouse / partner.
  10. Extra notes are available on Terminology - the Search Associates Application Form uses mostly American English because the majority of the senior associates are based in North America.
  11. We recommend that each new enquirer read the Terminology page and the Candidate Fees page, before starting to fill in an Application Form.
