About Search Associates
Search Associates was founded by its current Director, John Magagna, in 1991 with the aim of helping the growing number of international schools and the good teachers who seek positions in these schools. Other senior associates have joined the team since 1991, each heading their own branch. Most of the Search Associates team have spent many years working in international schools across the globe, bringing to the group a wealth of international school experience at senior management level. Our strength is our inside knowledge of hundreds of international schools and our decades of meeting with their teachers, heads and other senior managers.
Search Associates currently has fifteen international offices. All help fully qualified teachers (from classroom level to senior management and Heads of Schools) find suitable positions in overseas schools. Although each candidate chooses a single office as their point of contact with Search Associates, they benefit from the combined experience of all the senior associates and our centralised job-search databases and services.
We advise and support teachers and recruiters, communicating with large numbers every day. This branch strongly encourages both Skype and e-mail accounts, for recruiters and candidates. Recruiters from international schools use our services throughout the year to fill their teaching and senior management vacancies. The international schools with which we work are generally only looking for teachers who have fluent English.
The Gez Hayden branch of Search Associates works mainly with first-language English speaking teachers and English-medium schools emphasising an international, especially IB, approach to education.
